Anticipation is building. In less than one week, AkzoNobel will reveal its Color of the Year for 2025, setting the tone for the next 12 months of color in design. This annual announcement is more than just a color - it’s a reflection of global trends, a guide for the creative industries, and a source of global design inspiration.
For over 30 years, AkzoNobel has been at the forefront of color innovation, translating global trends into the hues that define our spaces and products. But this year marks a special milestone for the ColorSurfaces team - the 20th edition of our ColorSurfaces Trend Collection. With each edition, the ColorSurfaces team distills the insights from leading design professionals into coating palettes that inspire and elevate the automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics industries.
“As we translate the Color of the Year and our global trend research into carefully curated coating palettes, our focus is always on alignment with the product strategy of each segment,” says Stephie Sijssens, Color Marketing Manager at AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings. “We create a range of effects that not only provide trend inspiration but also showcase our latest technologies and innovations.”
As we count down to the reveal, the question on everyone’s mind is: What will the Color of the Year be for 2025? Will it be a subtle, muted tone that speaks to our collective desire for calm and simplicity? Or perhaps a vibrant, bright hue that captures the spirit of optimism and adventure?
The accompanying ColorSurfaces E20 Trend Collection features 85 pages of color inspiration, complemented by industry-specific sample sets, each containing 36 coated samples.
